Spurs transfer news: Manchester United want to sign Tottenham star Christian Eriksen

Manchester United want to sign Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen as part of the rebuilding job under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to the Evening Standard.

The report adds that United will rival Real Madrid for the Dane as he hasn’t signed a new deal with Tottenham yet.

The pair of clubs are aware of the difficulty in dealing with Daniel Levy, and the report claims that Spurs hope to keep hold of the Danish midfielder.

The report adds that Levy would not allow the Dane to reach the final year of his contract and the club would want more than £60million for the 27-year-old.

Levy prefers selling abroad

Eriksen has been one of the stars of the season for Spurs and has been in great form in the last two months or so.

The 27-year-old has nine goals and 16 assists in all competitions for Tottenham this season and got the winner in our clash against Brighton recently.

The report claims that Levy would prefer selling Eriksen to Madrid rather than strengthen a direct rival.

There is uncertainty if Eriksen would want a move to Old Trafford, according to the report, and Manchester United could miss out on the Champions League next season.

Spurs are in a great position to finish third in the Premier League and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they face Ajax.
