Latest Spurs news: Tottenham suffer first defeat at new stadium as West Ham win 1-0
Tottenham had won all their four games at their new home since moving in from Wembley.
However, that record went down the drain as Michail Antonio scored a brilliant goal in the second half to give the Hammers all three points.
Mauricio Pochettino changed things around with an eye on the Champions League clash against Ajax in midweek, and it showed as we were a little sluggish.
Jan Vertonghen was given a break while we started with a back three of Juan Foyth, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez.
Eric Dier also started for us in the tie and we had chances to score but Lukasz Fabianski was in great form.
An unlikely hero almost scored for Spurs
The second half saw West Ham come into their own as they were happy to counter Spurs. Antonio might have scored the winner, however, Fabian Balbuena came up with a great clearance off the line from a Vincent Janssen header.
The Dutch striker was brought on in the 77th minute and also got us an important goal. Janssen certainly seemed bright after coming on and we could have done with him coming on earlier.
The loss was a blow to our chances of finishing in the top four. Spurs are still in a great position but we cannot drop more points in our final two Premier League games.
There wasn’t much to take from the loss but Janssen got some credit for his cameo. Some fans could not even believe he was not started up front for the clash.
With Lucas and Sonny off him as wingers I would’ve preferred that or have Sonny go as a sole striker Eriksen on the left Lucas on the right Dele at the 10

Ffs Janssen did better in 13 minutes than almost every our attacking players. Playing Foyth on right wing back means we got no chance attacking from the right.

Surely Jansson has got to get more of a run out, why not start him, give him a chance to prove himself when we need to save players for in the week, he is every bit as good as Llorente yet gets the last few minutes, a mistake I think!
