Latest Spurs news: Mauricio Pochettino unsure about injured players returning soon

Mauricio Pochettino spoke in his pre-match presser as Tottenham prepared to face Bournemouth at the weekend.

Spurs have been hit hard with several injuries to their first-teamers in recent weeks.

Harry Winks underwent surgery while Jan Vertonghen joined the treatment table after a clash of heads in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier are also dealing with problems while Harry Kane is out with ankle ligament damage.

The Argentine manager spoke about a range of topics and was asked if any of our injured players could make a return for the semi-final second leg or even against Everton.

Pochettino didn’t have a positive answer and added that Son Heung-min would be back after his suspension was over (h/t Football.london):

“I don’t know. It’s going to be difficult, yes. The only one who for sure has the possibility to be available is Son, who was suspended, but the rest we don’t know.”

Two big games coming up for Tottenham

Tottenham can guarantee a top four place with a win over Bournemouth at the weekend, and we also need to be pumped up for the Champions League clash in midweek.

Ajax hold a one-goal advantage after the first-leg but we will have Son returning for that tie. Tottenham’s attack was a little limp in the semi-final first leg and we cannot have a repeat of that in Holland.

Spurs need to score on Wednesday as a Champions League final beckons. We could do with some of our players returning soon from injuries, and hopefully, we have one or two additions ready for the Ajax game.
