Spurs transfer news: Tottenham enquire about Nice right-back Youcef Atal
The Telegraph reports that Tottenham will be outspent by most of their rivals in the summer, and Mauricio Pochettino will be required to work his magic with the side.
The Argentine has done a fantastic job this season as we lie third in the table, and are in the Champions League semi-finals.
Ajax hold a 1-0 advantage after the first leg and we travel to Holland for the return fixture next week.
The report highlights that Daniel Levy will sanction a move for Andre Gomes, who is on loan at Everton, while Spurs have also enquired about an Algerian defender.
Youcef Atal has been doing pretty well at Nice, and the report claims that Tottenham are one of several clubs to have enquired about the 22-year-old Algerian.
A versatile defender at Spurs?
The 22-year-old can play in several positions and has scored six goals for Nice in Ligue 1 this season.
Atal can start on the right or left wing, and has done a job on the right side of the midfield too. This versatility would be great at Tottenham as Pochettino deploys several formations to deal with the opposition.
The Telegraph adds that Atal would cost at least £34m, and Spurs have been burnt earlier by their French purchases.
