Spurs transfer news: Carlo Ancelotti confirms Napoli are evaluating Kieran Trippier transfer

Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the Italians are looking at the possible transfer of Kieran Trippier.

The former Burnley defender has struggled for form at Tottenham this season, and Sky Sports claims that Mauricio Pochettino wants to rebuild his squad in the summer window.

The 28-year-old defender had an excellent World Cup with England but his Tottenham season has been littered with below average performances and some major mistakes at the back.

However, Sky Italy (h/t Sky Sports) claims that Trippier interests Napoli and some Premier League clubs. Ancelotti also spoke about PSV attacker Hirving Lozano as a possible summer recruit (h/t Sky Sports):

“All I can say is that they’re both [Trippier and Lozano] players we’re evaluating.

“So, to be honest, I can only confirm our appreciation of the player. Now we have to start proceeding with the analysis.”

Ancelotti is one of the most successful managers, having won three Champions League titles, however, he is yet to lift silverware with Napoli.

Right-back is a problem area for Spurs

Trippier has kept his place in the starting XI for Spurs despite a poor season. Serge Aurier can’t seem to stay fit for long while Kyle Walker-Peters hasn’t played enough games to stake a claim in the side.

Max Aarons is a target for Tottenham
Max Aarons of Norwich City

Spurs are looking at Max Aarons and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as possible signings in the summer (h/t Sun). Both players are young and have the potential to develop further in the coming years.

Pochettino has done well with English talent during his time in England, and it will be interesting to see which players we sign once the season ends.
