Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in AC Milan forward Patrick Cutrone

The Daily Express (h/t Daily Star) reports that Tottenham are interested in AC Milan’s Patrick Cutrone.

The Italian has scored nine goals and provided a couple of assists for the Milan giants this season, but his game time has been reduced, thanks to Krzysztof Piatek’s arrival.

The report adds that Milan value their academy product at £30m, and Tottenham might see that as a high price-tag for a player who will play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to strengthen the team after two barren transfer windows, according to the report.

A back-up for Kane is needed

Kane is possibly the best striker in the world but he seems to be prone to serious injuries. The Englishman has spent a while out of the side, with two ankle problems in the current campaign.

The England captain hurt his ankle ligaments against Manchester City recently, and it will be interesting to see when he returns to action.

The report adds that Cutrone might not prefer leaving Italy, especially if he has to spend time on the bench.

Tottenham have seen Son Heung-min do exceptionally well in the absence of Kane this season. Fernando Llorente has scored some important goals for us too, however, the Spaniard isn’t as mobile on the pitch as Kane.

Spurs have not made a signing for two transfer windows, but that should change once the summer window opens.
