Spurs transfer news: Tottenham to compete with Everton for Giovani lo Celso

The Sun reports that Tottenham and Everton are interested in Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentine joined the La Liga side from Paris Saint-Germain on loan and has excelled at the club.

Lo Celso has scored 16 goals and provided four assists so far for the La Liga team this season, and has made his move permanent, according to the report.

However, Betis will look to sell the Argentine in the summer and will be looking at doubling the £21.5million they paid to sign him permanently (h/t Sun).

The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino is in the market for a midfielder after selling Mousa Dembele, and Christian Eriksen’s future isn’t clear.

Another La Liga midfielder on the radar of both clubs

Lo Celso could be a smart purchase given how quickly he adapted to a new league this season.

However, Spurs and Everton are also interested in Andre Gomes, who has been on loan at the Toffees from Barcelona this season, according to the Telegraph.

The Portuguese midfielder had a slow start to his season at Goodison Park, but he has excelled in recent weeks and could be a decent signing for Pochettino.

Spurs are a little light when it comes to fit defenders at the moment, and we need to sign a few players to increase our squad depth.
