Latest Spurs news: Tottenham celebrate wildly as Lucas Moura charts epic comeback against Ajax
There were tears of joy and sorrow at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday night as Tottenham pulled off a miracle against Ajax in the Champions League.
Spurs were trailing 3-0 on aggregate after goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech for the home side.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men looked down and out before Lucas Moura scored a brace to make the tie 2-2.
The Brazilian then scored a last-second winner which saw Spurs qualify for the finals of the Champions League, and leave the Ajax players heartbroken.
The young side had been incredible all season dumping out Juventus and Real Madrid on the road to the semi-finals, but they could not hold out for just another minute or so.
They were brilliant opposition for us but we just had that little bit extra during the final 45 minutes of the two-legged affair.
Tears from Pochettino
Most of the Tottenham players were jubilant and running around the park, however, Mauricio Pochettino was in tears after the game.
The Argentine has taken us through a lot in recent years and now we are ready for the biggest game under his leadership.
Moura might get the plaudits for his hat-trick but there were several heroes on the pitch as we came back from 2-0 down at half-time.
