Spurs transfer news: Youri Tielemans expects to rejoin Monaco this summer
Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans expects to return to his parent club once the season is completed.
The 22-year-old joined Leicester City on loan in the second half of the season and has impressed under Brendan Rodgers.
The Belgian has racked up three goals and four assists prior to the final game of the season, and the Daily Mail claims that the Foxes want to sign him up permanently.
The report adds that there is interest from Tottenham too, with Arsenal and Manchester United also keeping an eye on the 22-year-old.
However, Tielemans told VTM Nieuws that a return to Monaco seems set (h/t Daily Mail):
“I expect that I will return to Monaco in the summer unless something’s moving,
“At the moment there’s nothing. If things are going well you want to keep it like that. I don’t know what Monaco will be asking, so I can’t talk about it.”
Monaco in danger of relegation
Monaco are 17th in Ligue 1 after 36 games and are in danger of relegation to the second tier.
The Belgian would be an incredible signing for Spurs given that we could use some added creativity in the final third.
The 22-year-old fits the bill for a Mauricio Pochettino signing, given he is young and has the potential to improve further under the Argentine.
Spurs need to make some signings in the summer given their lack of activity over two transfer windows, and we need to build upon an incredible Champions League campaign.

Pochettino could lead us to the title by beating Liverpool on 1st June, and that could be an added factor if we make a move in the transfer window.
