Spurs transfer news: Tottenham given the go-ahead to sign Malcom from Barcelona
The Express claims that Malcom wants to join Tottenham after a tough season with Barcelona. The 22-year-old joined the Catalans after an impressive season with Bordeaux, however, he has struggled to perform for Barca.
The winger has scored four times for the club and has only started four La Liga games for the side.
Arsenal were also interested in the Brazilian, however, the attacker believes Spurs are better placed to challenge for top honours in the coming years, according to the report.
Spurs were interested in the Brazilian last summer but he ended up at Barcelona, and the report claims that the La Liga giants want to recoup the £39million they spent to sign the 22-year-old.
The report adds that Spurs would not be priced out of a move if they want to go ahead with the deal.
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has also told Malcom that the Brazilian is free to leave in the summer, according to the report.
Tottenham want more attacking options
The report adds that Spurs want to increase their attacking options and that Malcom would fall somewhere in the middle regarding the players that we have.
The 22-year-old seems to be an expensive signing and a bit of a risk given his struggles at Barcelona.
Spurs need to make some moves in the summer and it will be interesting to see who we target once the window opens.

Tottenham could start next season as Champions League winners, and that could be another factor that comes into play when targeting players.
