Spurs transfer news: Fernando Llorente set to leave club in the summer
The Sun reports that Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente will leave for free at the end of the season. The 34-year-old has played a huge role in our Champions League run this season.
The Spaniard scored the third goal at the Etihad and helped us turn things around when we were trailing 3-0 on aggregate against Ajax in midweek.
The former Swansea star has found the back of the net eight times this season along with five assists.
Llorente has played 32 games for us in all competitions this season, but the report claims that Tottenham are looking at a younger striker to provide back-up for Harry Kane.
The English striker has missed a major part of this season due to two ankle injuries and is in a race to attain fitness for the Champions League final against Liverpool.
Italian move for Llorente?
The report claims that Napoli are interested in the 34-year-old Spaniard, and the striker already has experience of playing in Italy with Juventus.
Llorente was a star against Ajax as he helped Lucas Moura score a hat-trick, which took us to the final of the competition, and it will be interesting to see who we line up to replace him in the summer.
The Spaniard provides us with the physical presence up top but his mobility isn’t the greatest.

Llorente would also turn 35 next season and it makes sense to move for a younger player that Mauricio Pochettino can develop.
