Spurs transfer news: Julian Brandt prefers staying in Germany with Borussia Dortmund interested
Tottenham have been dealt a blow in their chase to sign Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Sky Sports Germany (h/t Mirror) claims that the German attacker is expected to join Borussia Dortmund if he decides to move.
The report claims that Tottenham are interested in the 23-year-old, with Liverpool also keeping tabs on the German international.
Brandt might stay with current club
Brandt’s departure from Leverkusen isn’t a certainty, with the player willing to remain with the club, according to the report.
Qualifying for the Champions League would boost Leverkusen’s hopes of keeping the attacker, however, the report claims that Brandt could stay at the club even if they play in the Europa League next season.
The youngster has a release clause of £21.5million but the report claims that the attacker has made up his mind to stay in Germany.
Spurs need to consolidate on their Champions League final appearance and spend after not signing a single player in the previous two transfer windows.
Brandt would be an excellent addition to the club and has the potential to improve in the coming years. The talented attacker has scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions this season.
