Spurs transfer news: Fans react as Juventus confirm manager will leave at the end of the season
Juventus confirmed that Italian manager Max Allegri would leave the club in the summer despite having a year left on his contract.
The former AC Milan manager led Juve to five consecutive Serie A titles, however, he lost two Champions League finals during his tenure in Turin.
The Italian also saw his side get knocked out by Ajax in the Champions League this season despite signing Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
“Massimiliano Allegri will not sit on the bench of Juventus next season,” Juventus said in a statement (h/t Mirror).
Juventus have a couple of Serie A games left in the season before Allegri steps down.
Mauricio Pochettino in the running
Some bookmakers have placed Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as one of the favourites to replace Allegri in Turin, according to the Mirror.
The former Espanyol manager has been linked with a move to the Serie A in recent weeks, with Juventus holding discussions with Poch (h/t Daily Mail).
The Argentine has done a fantastic job with limited spending at Tottenham. Spurs did not purchase a player in two transfer windows and yet made it to the finals of the Champions League.
Pochettino has also made us Champions League regulars and we have improved in each Champions League season under Poch.
Some fans were concerned about the latest development at Juventus, while many believed he would remain at Spurs.
This has me worried. For the first time Pochettino is making noises about leaving and I said a few months ago, if he was going to leave, Juventus is where he would be going. Hope i’ve got it wrong #THFC #COYS

I think we can challenge if we add the right players. Poch would be mad to go now. Good jobs will be there in the future. I always keep the faith COYS 😁

I’ve not been worried about Manchester United regarding Poch for a while, but this breaking Juventus and Allegri news is a concern #thfc
