Spurs transfer news: Lyon want £87million for Tanguy Ndombele
L’Equipe (h/t Daily Mail) reports that Tottenham will battle Juventus for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed another fine season with the Ligue 1 giants and played 50 games for club and country in the campaign.
The holding midfielder also racked up seven assists in the league as Lyon finished third and will play Champions League football next season.
The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the youngster. However, Daniel Levy’s excellent relationship with Lyon could play a part in us getting the Frenchman, according to the report.
Spurs are willing to offer Ndombele a great contract and the report claims that Juventus have already submitted a bid for the 22-year-old.
Lyon would not be looking to sell their star on the cheap and want £87million for the French midfielder (h/t Daily Mail).
Extra steel needed in the Tottenham midfield
Spurs sold Mousa Dembele in the winter window and did not sign a replacement for the Belgian.
However, we still have the Champions League final to play, which is an incredible feat given Spurs have not signed a single player in two windows.
Tottenham could do with more steel in the midfield given the injury history of Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama.
While Dier’s playing time was hit by an appendix problem this season, Wanyama has only started in four Premier League games all season.

Ndombele seems to be one of the hottest properties in French football and it will be interesting to see where he ends up once next season starts.
