Spurs transfer news: Gareth Bale could be available on a free transfer
The Times (h/t Mirror) reports that Real Madrid could allow Gareth Bale to leave for free at the end of the season.
The Welsh attacker has had a tough season, with the La Liga giants struggling, and the report claims that Zinedine Zidane wants to get rid of the 29-year-old.
Bale earns £13million per season at the La Liga club, and the report adds that there are several interested parties for the Welshman. However, they aren’t willing to pay a huge amount for the 29-year-old, according to the report.
The report adds that Real are considering letting Bale leave on a free just to get his wages off the bill, and Tottenham are said to be interested in making a move for their former star.
Interest coming from another Premier League club
Manchester United are also interested in the former Spurs star, and the report adds that the Welshman is open to a switch from Madrid now.
The report claims that Bale has been booed by some of the fans this season and Zidane isn’t the biggest admirer of the Welshman too. Bale would be a decent addition to this Tottenham side but his wages would still be a huge problem for the club.
The Welshman only recorded 8 La Liga goals this season from 29 appearances, while he provided three assists in the competition.
