Spurs transfer news: Spanish journalist claims Tottenham could sign Gareth Bale

Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda claims that Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale could sign for Tottenham. The Daily Star reports that the 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital.

Zinedine Zidane does not see the Welshman in his plans and the report adds that the pair don’t have a great relationship.

The Daily Star adds that Manchester United and Chelsea are seen as possible destinations but Inda believes Liverpool could end up with the attacker too (h/t Daily Star):

“Bale has spent the day playing golf at La Moraleja.

“And it is very likely that he will reach either of the two finalists in the Champions League, Tottenham or Liverpool.”

Tottenham could lose one star for Bale

Bale has had his injury problems at Real and wasn’t in great touch this season.

The campaign was a disaster for the club as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax and finished a massive 19 points behind champions Barcelona.

The report adds that Liverpool are not expected to spend big in the summer, and Bale might find it difficult to break into the first-team given the attacking talent that the Reds have.

However, the report suggests that Bale is tempted by a return to Spurs and could take a pay cut too. Real are also interested in Christian Eriksen and the Dane could be part of the deal that could see the Welshman return to Tottenham (h/t Daily Star).

Eriksen is out of a contract at the end of next season and hasn’t signed a new deal with Spurs.
