Spurs transfer news: Mido wants Bale to join Spurs and not think about the money
Former Tottenham striker Mido has urged Gareth Bale to return to Spurs and forget about the money.
The Sun reports that Bale seems happy to remain at Real Madrid and earn £600,000-a-week despite not being favoured by manager Zinedine Zidane.
The 29-year-old has three years left on his current deal, and the report adds that no club can match his wage demands.
However, Mido believes Bale has earned a lot during his career and could do with the support from the Tottenham fans.
Bale was one of the best players in the world before leaving Spurs, and Mido told talkSport that the Welshman could once again be the best if he returns (h/t Sun):
“Go back to Tottenham. Come back and play at Tottenham for three or four years. He’s got so much money, I’m sure he’ll be well off enough now to have a happy life with his family.
“He needs to feel loved and people love him at Tottenham. If he goes back he will be one of the best players in the Premier League again.”
Bale could be a hit at Tottenham
The Welsh attacker has won four Champions League crowns for Real and played a key role in lifting that trophy last season.
However, he has never been able to connect with the fans of the Madrid giants. Mido adds that Bale could thrive if he has the backing of the fans and believes the Tottenham supporters love the Welshman:
“I believe if he goes back to Tottenham he will get his desire back. I think Gareth is one of those players who needs to feel loved to play well, and at Tottenham everyone loves him.”
Bale could be a decent option for us as long as we don’t have to pay huge wages for the 29-year-old.
The Welsh attacker can play in several positions and has a couple of quality years left in him.

His injury record hasn’t been great over the past year or so, and it will be interesting to see who we sign in the summer window.
