Spurs transfer news: Tottenham contact Real Madrid over Marco Asensio
AS (h/t Daily Mail) reports that Tottenham have made contact with Real Madrid over star attacker Marco Asensio.
The Spaniard scored six goals and provided four assists in all competitions in an underwhelming season for the La Liga giants.
The report claims that Tottenham would have to stump up £618m to sign the player due to a release clause in his contract.
Asensio can play on either wing, but the report claims that Real are not looking to sell their star.

The report adds that Zinedine Zidane sees the Spaniard as a key player for Real next season.
The 23-year-old is contracted until 2023, and the report claims that the La Liga giants do not need to sell the player too.
Mauricio Pochettino is an admirer of the Spaniard, according to the report, and wants to add world-class talent at Tottenham.
Spurs haven’t signed players in two transfer windows, and we have to change that if we are to battle for top honours in England.
