Spurs transfer news: Tottenham planning double raid for Callum Wilson and David Brooks
The Sun reports that Tottenham are planning an £80million move for Bournemouth attackers Callum Wilson and David Brooks.
The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino wants to strengthen his side and Daniel Levy will allow him to spend as Spurs reached their first Champions League final under the Argentine.
Tottenham haven’t made any signings in two transfer windows but need to add quality to a team that has been stretched due to injuries.
The report adds that Pochettino wants Wilson to compete with Harry Kane and provide cover for the Tottenham striker.
Kane picked up two serious injuries this season and Spurs have had to play Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura as makeshift strikers in a few games.
£80m equally split between the two players
The report adds that Everton are interested in England international Wilson, and Spurs are hopeful of getting the 27-year-old for £40m.
Wilson scored 14 goals and provided nine assists for the Cherries this season, while Brooks has been outstanding since his move from Sheffield United.
Spurs hope that a £40m offer will be enough for Bournemouth to sell the 21-year-old Brooks, who notched up seven goals and five assists in the Premier League campaign.
Tottenham need some fresh faces in the team and moving for the Premier League pair would certainly be less risky than signing talent from abroad.
However, it is difficult to say that the pair is better than what we have currently in the side. Moura has had an up and down season while Erik Lamela has spent a lot of time on the treatment table.

Tottenham need more attacking talent in the team and Pochettino’s history of working with young English talents could see him get the best out of the Bournemouth pair.
