Spurs transfer news: Belgian journalist Spurs and Youri Tielemans’ agent have spoken
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur has confirmed that there have been talks between Tottenham and Youri Tielemans’ agent.
The Belgian midfielder was excellent for Leicester City after he joined the Foxes from Monaco on loan.
The 22-year-old impressed under Brendan Rodgers at the Foxes, and the Express claims that Leicester are interested in signing him permanently.
However, Terreur told Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk Podcast that another Premier League club is also interested in Tielemans (h/t Express):
“There have been talks, the agent’s had talks with Spurs and Man United about him.”
The journalist could not confirm if the Belgian midfielder was the first choice for Spurs, however, Monaco want to sell Tielemans.
Big money needed to sign Tielemans
Tottenham might have to spend big to sign Tielemans, according to Terreur. The journalist confirmed that Tielemans isn’t in Monaco’s plans but they want a huge sum:
“He’s not in the plans of the manager. His good performances have done what they wanted, he’s now worth more than he was worth in January when they rated him already at £40m.”
Tielemans would be a quality addition to the team and given he is only 22, he could improve at Spurs.
The Belgian also has half a season of Premier League experience under his belt and he looked like a natural while playing at Leicester.
This would be a low-risk signing given how well he did at the Foxes, and it will be interesting to see if we bid for the midfielder.

Spurs first have to deal with the Champions League final and there should be a lot of transfer activity once that game is done.
