Latest Spurs news: Pochettino wants to concentrate on Champions League final despite rumours regarding his future

The Daily Mail reports that Juventus are interested in signing Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Italian giants ended the tenure of Max Allegri as the former AC Milan manager left after five seasons in Turin.

Pochettino was speaking in a press conference ahead of the Champions League final and was asked about his future by an Italian journalist.

The Argentine decided to skirt the issue by bringing up the importance of the final (h/t Daily Mail):

“Today nothing is more important than the game we have ahead. We can make history, we can write our history and provide our fans and people and family with the best happiness in football.

“To think about individual things is a little bit embarrassing and a shame. I am not important. What happens in the future with me? I think we have bigger things ahead to think about (the final).”

Links will always be present

The Argentine further claimed that the Champions League final or the possibility of winning a trophy was more important than him.

Pochettino wanted the team to focus on the task ahead and added that rumours would always be present:

“You ask about me but today the focus is 200 per cent on the final. Rumours are rumours and are there. After the final we will have time to talk.”

Pochettino is right in suggesting that the talk has to be about the final as Spurs can win the Champions League for the first time.

The last thing we need is more distractions regarding the future of the Argentine, however, he could have allayed some fears by suggesting that he would stay at Spurs for a while.

Pochettino is possibly one of the best managers we have had, and hopefully, we keep hold of the Argentine for a number of years.
