Spurs transfer news: Tottenham submit bid for Tanguy Ndombele but will see it rejected by Lyon
L’Equipe (h/t Metro) reports that Tottenham submitted a bid for Lyon’s 22-year-old midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The French midfielder has been excellent for the Ligue 1 side over the past two seasons and played 51 games for club and country in the current campaign.
The report adds that Juventus have also bid for Ndombele and Lyon will reject offers from the clubs. Lyon are willing to sell one of their stars in the summer and are looking at £88million for the 22-year-old, according to the report.
The midfielder has also caught the eye of other European clubs including Manchester United and Manchester City (h/t Metro). Ndombele is a beast in the middle of the park and can provide more steel to Tottenham’s midfield.
Tottenham making big moves in the summer?
Spurs sold Mousa Dembele in the winter window while we haven’t signed a player in two transfer windows. Ndombele is one of the highest rated players in Ligue 1 and he probably won’t come on the cheap.
It is refreshing to learn that Spurs are looking to sign one of the best players in the French league, however, there is a lot of interest in the 22-year-old.
Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas prefers Ndombele moving to Paris Saint-Germain (h/t Metro):
“If PSG aligns with the three offers received and Tanguy agrees, obviously it would be nice if he goes there.”

Hopefully, we can beat off interest from our rivals and land Ndombele ahead of the next season.
