Latest Spurs news: Tottenham land in Madrid ahead of Champions League final against Liverpool

The Tottenham players and coaching staff flew off to Madrid ahead of the biggest game of the season.

Spurs face Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1 at the Wanda Metropolitano, and we have travelled with a 26-man squad for the game.

Tottenham need to be at their best against the Reds but the good news is that Harry Kane is back and seems set to feature in the final.

The Englishman hasn’t played since April but he is a risk worth taking against the Reds.

Christian Eriksen is another player who needs to be at his best as his passes can unlock the Liverpool defence.

The Dane is a threat from set-pieces too and is in fine form ahead of the final. The players who have carried us to the final are Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min.

The Brazilian scored an incredible second-half hat-trick against Ajax in the semi-final second leg to take us to the final.

Son, for his part, was deadly against Manchester City in the quarter-finals as he scored thrice in two games.

Midfield steel needed against the Reds

Liverpool have a tough midfield which isn’t very creative but does a lot of running and closing down.

Tottenham also have workhorses in the team, with Eric Dier and Harry Winks fit for the clash. But Moussa Sissoko could be the key to dominating the opposition midfield.

The Frenchman has been excellent this season and he could cap it off by winning the Champions League.

Our defence also has to keep things in check and Toby Alderweireld should be the main man for that job.

Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez have also travelled with the team for the final, and it will be interesting to see who pairs Alderweireld in the heart of the defence.

Tottenham might have lost the two Premier League games against Liverpool this season, but the Champions League final should be a different story on Saturday.
