Spurs transfer news: Tottenham in interested in PSV Eindhoven star Steven Bergwijn
The Daily Mail claims that Tottenham are interested in PSV Eindhoven’s 21-year-old winger Steven Bergwijn.
The Dutch sensation scored 14 times and provided 13 assists for PSV last season as they missed out on the Eredivisie title.
The report adds that Tottenham face competition from Ajax for Bergwijn’s signature, and PSV do not want to sell the star to their Eredivisie rivals.
There has been interest in the 21-year-old from Liverpool and Manchester United in the past, but the report suggests that Tottenham are the best-placed Premier League team to land the Dutch winger.
The Dutchman is one of the brightest players in the Eredivisie and the 21-year-old is valued at £35milion, according to the report.
Spurs looking to build for next season
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino believes the Dutchman’s pace and ability to play in different positions will be great for Tottenham.
Spurs are also targeting Jack Clarke of Leeds United and Giovani lo Celso of Real Betis, according to the report.
Tottenham will play in the Champions League final on Saturday and the report claims that Pochettino will spend in the summer, irrespective of the result against Liverpool.
Bergwijn would be an excellent signing for Spurs and he would develop further under a manager like Pochettino.
