Latest Spurs news: Glenn Hoddle believes Tottenham could have money to spend in the summer

Former Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle believes Tottenham will have money to spend in the summer after the Champions League defeat to Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were defeated 2-0 by the Reds as our rivals lifted a sixth Champions League crown on Saturday.

Tottenham had their chances to win a first Champions League title, however, goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi were enough to see Jurgen Klopp triumph.

Hoddle was speaking after the final and praised Pochettino for the work he has done with the team.

The Englishman highlighted how “amazing” it was that we reached the final of the competition.

Hoddle also did not think that Pochettino needed too many top players but had to spend in the summer (h/t Football.london):

“If there’s a pot of gold there for next year, which I think there will be, he can add to that. I don’t think he needs that many. He just needs a couple of top players.”

Spurs have a huge summer to work on

Losing the final was a huge blow for a team that reached this stage courtesy some amazing comebacks.

Hoddle is right in suggesting we need to make a couple of quality signatures, however, we could also do with upgrades in a few areas of the pitch.
