Spurs transfer news: Manchester United unwilling to meet Tottenham’s price for Kieran Trippier

The Mirror reports that Kieran Trippier still interests Manchester United as they look to sign a new right-back.

The 28-year-old had to deal with more heartbreak at the end of this season as Liverpool defeated Tottenham in the Champions League final.

The right-back also was dumped out of the World Cup in the semi-final stage but has struggled to perform since his trip with the Three Lions.

The report adds that Manchester United are worried about dealing with Daniel Levy and will not be held to ransom by Spurs.

The chairman wants more than £30million for Trippier, and the report adds that United see Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a better alternative.

The English defender was excellent for the Eagles this season and Trippier’s dip in form has seen him miss out on the squad for the Nations League.

Trippier open to United move

The report adds that Trippier is open to a move to Old Trafford if he is not wanted at Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino would not mind an upgrade on Trippier, according to the report, even though the Englishman has three years left on his current deal.

The 28-year-old’s form has dipped alarmingly and his mistakes have cost us this season.

The Champions League final proved that we need to strengthen the side with some key positions needing an uplift as soon as possible.

Trippier is a decent squad player to have, and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in the summer.
