Spurs transfer news: Tottenham have to pay close to £60m for Leicester’s James Maddison
Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian reports that Tottenham target James Maddison would cost around £60m. The English midfielder has done a great job at Leicester City this season after making the jump from Norwich City.
This was Maddison’s first season in the Premier League but the 22-year-old racked up 7 goals and 7 assists from 36 games.
Steinberg added that Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in the 22-year-old. However, Maddison isn’t thinking of leaving at the moment but the summer will be interesting for the Englishman.
James Maddison is in no rush to leave Leicester, but it could be an interesting summer for him. United, City, Tottenham and Liverpool all interested in the midfielder. Likely to cost around £60m. So probably too much for Arsenal… #lcfc #mufc #mcfc #thfc #lfc

Tottenham need to bounce back after their Champions League loss
Tottenham’s season ended in major disappointment after losing the Champions League final to Liverpool. Mauricio Pochettino needs to be backed in the summer as we have to sign a few players to strengthen the team.
There were several players who struggled to perform consistently for Tottenham this season and Maddison should increase the competition for starting places.
The creative spark was missing from our play in certain games this season, and Maddison could be the solution to that problem.
The youngster has time on his hands to develop further, and Pochettino could turn him into the next superstar.
