Spurs transfer news: Tottenham to make second bid for Tanguy Ndombele

Le10 Sport (h/t Football.london) reports that Tottenham will submit a second bid for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The French midfielder had a wonderful season for the Ligue 1 side, and the report claims that Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign the 22-year-old.

The report adds that Spurs’ first bid for the midfielder was not up to Lyon’s liking and the club want to sell Ndombele before the end of June.

The club wants close to €80m for the midfielder and could even agree to a sale for lower than that should the deal be quickly completed.

Tottenham were the only Premier League club not to sign any players last season but we still finished fourth in the Premier League. Spurs also reached the final of the Champions League but were defeated by Liverpool 2-0 in Madrid.

Spurs making the right moves in the window

Tottenham need to sign a few players as most of our rivals spent a lot in the previous summer and could do the same this time too.

Spurs need to add a midfielder after selling Mousa Dembele in the winter window, and Ndombele would make an excellent signing.

The 22-year-old will add some grit and steel to the midfield, and still has a lot of time to develop further under Mauricio Pochettino. Lyon might want a huge sum for their star but we have to spend big to get the best players at Tottenham.

Spurs need to spend on other areas of the team too, and it should be an interesting summer of activity under the Argentine manager.
