Spurs transfer news: Inter Milan want to stay updated regarding Christian Eriksen

The Evening Standard reports that Inter Milan are keeping a close eye on Christian Eriksen’s situation at Tottenham.

The 27-year-old told Spurs about his desire to leave the team as he seeks a different challenge, according to the report.

The Dane signed for us from Ajax and is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. However, the 27-year-old was not able to help us win the Champions League final on Saturday.

Eriksen, like the rest of the team, was average against Liverpool as the Reds picked up their sixth Champions League crown.

The report claims that Eriksen prefers a move to Real Madrid, however, Inter want to stay informed about the Dane who has just one year left on his current deal.

Inter’s chief executive Beppe Marotta wanted to sign the Dane when he was the director general at Juventus but was unable to land the 27-year-old, according to the report.

Tottenham need to make the most of the situation

Eriksen was quoted (h/t Evening Standard) suggesting that Real is a step up but they haven’t spoken to Spurs yet:

“[Real Madrid] is a step up. But it requires Real Madrid to call Tottenham and say they want me. And they have not done so yet, as far as I know.”

Daniel Levy needs to get the most for Eriksen, and it will be interesting to see how much we can make by letting the Dane leave.

Levy is great when it comes to negotiations but his hands could be tied due to the fact that Eriksen has one year left on his contract.
