Spurs transfer news: Giovani Lo Celso thinking about Argentine ahead of Copa America
The Evening Standard reports that Giovani Lo Celso was asked about Tottenham’s interest in him.
The Argentine had a wonderful season on loan at the Spanish club, racking up 16 goals in all competitions.
The former PSG man is currently with the national side for the upcoming Copa America tournament.
Lo Celso was asked about Tottenham’s interest in the 23-year-old, however, the Argentine claimed there wasn’t much to tell about Spurs while speaking to Radio La Red (h/t Evening Standard):
“There is nothing new about Tottenham.”
The Argentine was only thinking about the summer’s tournament though he admitted the Premier League was a tough competition:
“I’m focused 100% on the [Argentina] team. We know how strong the Premier League, but I’m not focused on that.”
Lo Celso to bolster the attack?
The 23-year-old was excellent in his debut La Liga season and can play in several positions in the final third.
Tottenham could do with more creativity in the attack and Lo Celso seems to tick all the boxes for a Mauricio Pochettino signing.
The Betis star is young, has loads of talent and will improve in the coming seasons.
Tottenham lacked some sharpness in the final third during the Champions League final against Liverpool.
The Reds took their chances while our players created opportunities and could not maximise on them.
