Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa

L’Equipe (h/t Mirror) reports that Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are willing to sell four stars to meet FFP guidelines.

The report claims that PSG are facing a probe over their finances and have to balance the books by selling some players.

Julian Draxler, Christopher Nkunku, Layvin Kurzawa and Thomas Meunier have links with Premier League club, according to the report.

Tottenham are interested in Draxler and Kurzawa, according to the report, with Spurs looking at the German midfielder as a possible replacement for Christian Eriksen.

Kurzawa is the interesting link here as the French left-back didn’t start too many games for the Ligue 1 giants last season.

The 26-year-old only played 21 times for PSG as he scored one goal and provided a couple of assists in the league.

More competition for the left-back positions?

Spurs have a couple of quality left-backs with Danny Rose ahead of Ben Davies in the pecking order.

Rose had a mixed season but finished strong as we reached the Champions League final. The Englishman started against Liverpool but ended up on the losing side on Saturday.

Tottenham could do with more competition in this position as Davies has also had his ups and downs under Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Kurzawa hasn’t really been great for PSG over the last two seasons, and we need to look at players that will improve the team.

Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura joined Spurs from PSG, and only Moura has had some success this season.
