Spurs transfer news: Tottenham more likely to sign Tanguy Ndombele than Bruno Fernandes
The Sun reports that Tottenham are more likely to land Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon than Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
Portuguese reports (h/t Sun) claim that Tottenham are the favourites to land Fernandes ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United, however, Spurs have monitored the Lyon star since he made a name for himself at Amiens.
The report claims that Lyon want £70m for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder, however, Spurs believe they can sign the Frenchman for around £50m.
Two players could depart Spurs
Ndombele was one of the stars for Lyon last season and the report claims that his arrival could mean the end of two Tottenham midfielders.
Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama are the two players that could be sold by Spurs as we look to refresh the midfield (h/t Sun).
Wanyama struggled with several injuries throughout the season while Dier also had his issues with an appendix surgery. The English midfielder also struggled to perform on several occasions when he played, but we were fortunate to have Moussa Sissoko firing on all cylinders last season.
Ndombele could be that added steel we need in the midfield and hopefully, he ends up at Tottenham rather than any other club. Mauricio Pochettino needs some backing in the summer after a couple of barren transfer windows.
