Spurs transfer news: Real Betis manager open to selling Lo Celso for investment in team

Real Betis manager Rubi has spoken out regarding the future of star attacker Giovani Lo Celso.

Football.london reports that the 23-year-old is a Tottenham target and we even submitted an offer for the Argentina international.

The Manchester Evening News (h/t Football.london) claims that we bid €60million for Lo Celso, but that was rejected by the Spanish side. Rubi was asked about the possibility of losing Lo Celso in the summer and the manager was quoted as saying (h/t Football.london):

“You always want to have the best players at your command and Lo Celso is.

“I don’t have to talk about a player who, without being a striker, has scored 16 goals in his first season here.”

However, Rubi did suggest that he would be open to losing Lo Celso if the squad was invested in:

“But I do say one thing. I have peace of mind that, if he has to leave, hopefully not, that money will be invested in improving the squad.”

Lo Celso doing his bit for the club

The 23-year-old joined Betis on loan from PSG and scored 16 times in all competitions last season. He broke into the national team this season and will participate in this summer’s Copa America.

Lo Celso even spoke about the interest from Tottenham but added he was focused on the upcoming international tournament (h/t Football.london).

Tottenham would have to part with a decent sum to sign Lo Celso, and if Mauricio Pochettino wants the Argentine, we have to go all out for his signature.

Spurs haven’t been active in two transfer windows regarding incomings, and we cannot make it another summer without any new additions.
