Latest Spurs news: Ben Davies undergoes groin surgery after Wales games
Tottenham confirmed that left-back Ben Davies underwent groin surgery and will go through a period of rehabilitation.
The 26-year-old confirmed he would go under the knife before Wales’ Euro 2020 qualifiers, however, that was delayed.
Davies played against Croatia and Hungary, with both games ending in defeat for the Welsh team.
The tweet from Tottenham added that Davies should be back for pre-season and will resume training with the side.
Davies battles with Rose for first-team spot
The Welsh defender battled hard with Danny Rose for a first-team place last season. Davies racked up 20 Premier League starts but Mauricio Pochettino preferred Rose towards the end of the season.
The left-back also started six Champions League games and four domestic cup games as Poch mixed things around.
The English defender also started the Champions League final as Davies was brought on mostly as a sub in the final months of the campaign.
The 26-year-old has to be at his best next season as we look to continue our development under Pochettino.
The final of the Champions League was one major step for us, and we need to win a trophy under the Argentine soon.
Many fans wished the Spurs star a quick recovery and expected him to be back in action soon.
Wish you a smooth recovery Ben pal 💙
