Spurs transfer news: Journalist claims Christian Eriksen has rejected a move to Manchester United
Journalist Tom McDermott (h/t Sun) reports that Tottenham star Christian Eriksen has rejected a move to Manchester United.
The Danish international is out of a contract at the end of next season, and recently told Ekstra Bladet that he wants a new challenge (h/t Sun):
“I feel like I am in a place in my career where I might want to try something new. I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened at Tottenham.”
Eriksen is
“Told that #MUFC did ask about Christian Eriksen but it was a “no” from the Dane and his team. Spain is his first choice, but Solskjaer’s problem is attracting players.”
The Dane helped us reach the Champions League final last season, but we ended up on the losing side.
La Liga giants interested in Eriksen
The Sun adds that Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in signing the Danish midfielder, however, Paul Pogba could throw a spanner in the works.
Marca (h/t Football.london) reports that Zinedine Zidane wants to sign the French midfielder from Manchester United.
The report claims that the Real Madrid manager is uninterested in signing Eriksen or any other midfielder as he sets his sights on Pogba.

This could be even better news for us as Eriksen could remain at Tottenham. Daniel Levy would have to work his magic and get the Dane to sign a new deal as losing the Dane for free would be a major mistake.
