Spurs transfer news: Hugo Lloris confirms he is staying at Tottenham but could return to Nice in the future
Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris will stay at the club for the foreseeable future as he aims for more glory in the coming seasons.
The 32-year-old star helped us reach the Champions League final but saw Liverpool come out on top this season. The previous summer was excellent for the goalkeeper as he lifted the World Cup with France.
Lloris has had his troubles in goal but also put up some great performances for Spurs in the previous campaign. The Express has linked us with a move for Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha. The 24-year-old Albanian is one of the best in the Serie A, and we face a battle with Arsenal for his signature.
However, Lloris has no desire to return home now and provided an emphatic reply on whether he wanted to return to Nice.
The French star started his career there before moving to Lyon and told Nice-Matin (h/t Football.london):
“To live? Definitely! A return to the club – it’s hard to promise things. I’m still a fan, but I’ve career plans & I’m under contract at Spurs, where I hope we’ll be successful. Maybe the question will come later, but not today.”
Tottenham still have to decide on Lloris’ replacement
The 32-year-old has a few years left in him but we need to decide on who could be his replacement in the coming years.

Paulo Gazzaniga did a good job last season filling in for the captain, and it is to be seen if he will get more starts once the new campaign starts.
