Latest Spurs news: Fans react to Davinson Sanchez’s Colombia defeating Argentina
This summer sees two international tournaments take place with many Tottenham stars vying for glory.
Several stars are away at the African Cup of Nations and the Copa America, and one defender stood out with his performance today.
Davinson Sanchez’s Colombia defeated Lionel Messi’s Argentina 2-0 thanks to second half goals.
The Argentinians were the better outfit in the initial stages of the game, but they could not take their chances.
Colombia held on till the second half before goals from Roger Martinez and Duvan Zapata gave them the three points.
This was a famous victory for Colombia as they look to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
The other teams in the group are Qatar and Paraguay, and Sanchez’s team should be favourites to top their group now.

Some fans want Sanchez to play more
Tottenham posted an update on Sanchez’s performance and many fans hailed the 23-year-old for keeping Messi on a leash.
The centre-back started 33 games for us across all competitions last season and performed well in several of them.
Our first-choice pairing at the back is still Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, but it will be interesting to see if Sanchez gets more starts this season.
The 23-year-old can only improve in the coming years, and here are some of the reactions from our fans after Argentina’s loss.
