Spurs transfer news: AS Roma want €70m for Nicolo Zaniolo

Sky Sports (h/t Calciomercato) claims that AS Roma have slapped a €70m price-tag on Italian youngster Nicolo Zaniolo.

The 19-year-old impressed for Roma last season and is on national duty at the U21 Euros.

Zaniolo performed well in the 3-1 win over the U21 Spain team recently, and the report claims that Roma have put a huge amount on Zaniolo to deter other clubs from signing him.

The report further claims that Serie A giants Juventus are also interested in Zaniolo, along with Tottenham.

Zaniolo scored six goals and provided two assists for Roma last season, but they failed to qualify for the Champions League. The report adds that Roma are expected to lose Kostas Manolas and Edin Dzeko in the summer, and will face a difficult summer window.

Roma are willing to sell Zaniolo for a large fee, similar to what they did with Alisson last season, according to the report, and have also seen legends Danielle De Rossi and Francesco Totti leave due to disagreements with the board.

Zaniolo seems to be a great talent for the future and it is to be seen if we are willing to spend €70m on the 19-year-old.

This would be a bit of a risky signing given the price, however, we need to back the manager in the window.

The French midfielder was brilliant last season, and could be one of our smartest signings should we beat competition from Juventus and Manchester United.
