Spurs transfer news: Dutch expert confirms Tottenham scouted Donny van de Beek
Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan believes Donny van de Beek is keen on a move to the Premier League.
The 22-year-old was impressive for Ajax last season as they won the Eredivisie title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Van de Beek scored some crucial goals for the Dutch giants, such as the winner against Tottenham in the first leg of the semi-final.
The expert added that the midfielder has been scouted by many Premier League clubs including Tottenham (h/t Express):
“I’ve seen scouts from Tottenham, Man Utd, Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle all at the Amsterdam ArenA looking at him.”
Van Der Kraan added that the Ajax star was watched several times, and would be the ideal back-up for Premier League teams.
“He’s an ideal player for the Premier League, he’s got the skills like most Ajax players, he’s got a big tank, he can run all day.
“But all these clubs have a priority list and van de Beek seems the perfect back-up for the big clubs.”
Van de Beek wants Premier League action
Van der Kraan claimed that the midfielder has the best chance of sealing a move from Ajax, and believed the Premier League might interest him:
“I think he’s keen for the Premier League, more than the German or Italian leagues.”
