Spurs transfer news: Tottenham will move for Andersen once Alderweireld’s future is resolved

The Evening Standard claims that Tottenham are tracking Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen.

The Dane was impressive for the Italian club last season as he racked up 34 appearances in all competitions and helped them finish ninth in the league.

The report claims that Spurs see the Dane as a possible replacement for Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian centre-back could leave in the summer due to a £25million release clause in his contract (h/t Evening Standard).

The report adds that Spurs are unlikely to move for Andersen until Alderweireld’s future is resolved and they add someone to their midfield.

Spurs are in negotiations over Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, and the report claims that the talks are expected to take time.

The 22-year-old midfielder was one of the best players in Ligue 1 last season, and Lyon want more than £60million for the France international (h/t Evening Standard).

Andersen has suitors in the Serie A too, with Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus keeping tabs on the 23-year-old, according to the report.

Tottenham need another quality centre-back

The Dane could be another smart centre-back signing as we need cover for the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

Davinson Sanchez did a great job last season but Juan Foyth still needs time to develop into a consistent player.

The Argentine had some tough games in the Premier League last season, and it will be interesting to see when we move for Andersen.
