Spurs transfer news: Joachim Andersen confirms he wants to leave Sampdoria
Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen has handed Tottenham a boost after confirming he wants to leave the Serie A team.
The Danish centre-back helped Samp finish ninth in the Serie A as he started 34 games for them last season.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Spurs and our bitter rivals Arsenal (h/t Football.london), and told BT that he is ready for a new challenge (h/t Football.london):
“There’s a lot of interest and I look at my options. I have loved my time in Sampdoria – both the fans, the president, the staff, the players and the city, but it’s time to move on so I can develop even more.”
French giants also interested in defender
Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Football.london) added that Lyon have bid for the 23-year-old Dane’s services.
The report claims that the defender has been offered for £32m, while AC Milan
The 23-year-old could be a decent option for us as he has the potential to improve further. The Evening Standard adds that Spurs are tracking Andersen as a possible replacement for star defender Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian can leave Spurs if his £25m release clause is triggered in the summer, and the Standard claimed that we won’t make a move for the Dane until Alderweireld’s future is resolved.
