Spurs transfer news: Paris Saint-Germain enter race to sign Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele

The Express reports that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino sees Ndombele as his No.1 target in the summer, and Tottenham are in talks with Lyon over the £71million-rated 22-year-old.

Ndombele enjoyed a great season for club and country last time around and is one of the best in the French league.

The 22-year-old was especially excellent in the Champions League as he helped Lyon beat Manchester City and also held Barcelona to a draw.

The report adds that PSG have registered their interest in the Ligue 1 powerhouse despite Spurs being in negotiations with Lyon.

Spurs have already seen a £40m bid rejected by the French side, and are not willing to meet Lyon’s valuation of Ndombele (h/t Express).

However, the club will break their transfer record if they are to sign Ndombele. Spurs spent £40m to sign Davinson Sanchez from Ajax a couple of years ago, and that deal is set to be smashed (h/t Express).

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed that there are offers from other clubs for the 22-year-old (h/t Express), but Ndombele recently spoke about Tottenham being a big club and knows about their interest.

PSG entering the race would be a problem given their vast finances, and we need to get the deal done quickly.

Spurs looking to sell a few players

The report adds that Pochettino is willing to let Victor Wanyama in the summer, while the right offer for Eric Dier could see the English midfielder leave too.

Christian Eriksen is another player who could leave in the summer (h/t Express), and that could see a lot of changes in our midfielder next season.
