Latest Spurs news: Son Heung-min vows to come back stronger next season

Tottenham star Son Heung-min wants more next season with Tottenham despite reaching the Champions League final.

The South Korean star was one of our best performers last season, but could not help us lift the Champions League crown.

Liverpool beat us in Madrid a few weeks ago but Son was proud that the team reached the final.

The South Korean was speaking to Tottenham’s website and believes the team would come back stronger (h/t Sky Sports):

“It was a tough schedule and we had some great results. We finished top four again and reached the Champions League final. Obviously, we were disappointed to lose the final, but we can be very proud.

“The players learned so much from last season and we will want more next season – and I believe we have a good chance to do something. I’m looking forward to coming back stronger.”

Son bagged 12 goals in the Premier League last season and provided six assists. The 26-year-old scored some crucial goals for us in the Champions League too.

Son will miss the opening games of the season

However, the forward will miss the first two Premier League games of the upcoming season due to suspension.

Son was sent off against Bournemouth and will feature against Newcastle, but he is looking forward to the new campaign.

“It will be a very exciting game for us and Villa as well. We’ll look forward to playing our first game of the new season at our new stadium. That will be a special day.”
