Spurs transfer news: Tottenham unlikely to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes
Sky Sports claims that Tottenham have cooled their interest in Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes.
The 24-year-old was in great form for the Portuguese side as he scored 20 goals and provided 13 assists in the league campaign.
The versatile midfielder did a decent job for the national team too as Portugal won the inaugural Nations League title.
The report adds that there is a lot of interest in Fernandes from Premier League clubs, with Manchester United eyeing the Portugal international. Spurs met with Fernandes’ representatives recently, however, the report claims that they do not want to get into a bidding war.
Sporting want £65m for their star midfielder, and the report adds that it is unlikely Spurs will sign Fernandes although the meeting was a positive step.
Tottenham have other targets on their radar
The report adds that Spurs are in negotiations over other midfield targets. Tanguy Ndombele of Lyon and Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso are two targets for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, however, the future of Christian Eriksen is expected to be away from the Premier League club (h/t Sky Sports).
Ndombele and Lo Celso could be a couple of great signings for Spurs as they are young and talented enough to improve under Pochettino.

Spurs haven’t signed players in two transfer windows, but that seems likely to change in the summer.
