Spurs transfer news: Danny Mills claims Callum Wilson would be a great signing for Tottenham
Former Manchester City star Danny Mills believes Callum Wilson would be a great signing for Tottenham.
The English striker enjoyed a fruitful season with Bournemouth last season and even broke into Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions team.
The 27-year-old scored 15 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions for the Cherries, and Mills told Football Insider (h/t Football.london) that the English striker could play alongside Harry Kane:
“Would the likes of Tottenham not be interested? He’d be an addition (rather than backup).
“He could play alongside Harry Kane, he’s a very, very good player. If I was Tottenham I would be looking at him and thinking: ‘What am I going to get for my money? Actually yes. Is he better than what we’ve got in terms of secondary? Yes.’”
The BBC pundit added that Wilson could take the risk of coming in as a second striker and wait for his opportunity under Mauricio Pochettino.
Mills believed that Champions League football could be a draw for Wilson, he would be a great fit at Spurs.
“I think Tottenham would be a good fit for him. He’d have to prove himself to get in the side week in, week out but it’s certainly something he would want to be chasing.”

Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min can play in place of Kane, however, we could do with another striker that takes the load of the Englishman.
Kane’s season was interrupted by a couple of big injuries, and he was far from match fit in the Champions League final against Liverpool.
