Spurs transfer news: Sampdoria want at least €35m for Joachim Andersen
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Football.london) reports that Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero wants at least €35m for star defender Joachim Andersen.
The report adds that Ferrero wants a bidding war for the defender after impressing in the Serie A.
The Danish centre-back was one of the best players for Samp last season as they finished ninth in the Italian league.
The 22-year-old has been a long-time target for Tottenham and Arsenal, according to the report, but Spurs have come closest to the valuation of the defender.
The report adds that Spurs face a lot of competition for Andersen with AC Milan, AS Roma and Lyon also entering the race for the centre-back.
Andersen recently spoke about his desire to move away from Sampdoria and spending €35m on a defender with potential would be a great move for Tottenham.
Spurs need cover for the pairing of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld this season.
Juan Foyth is still a little raw while Andersen has been a regular for Samp over the past two seasons.
Vertonghen had to deal with a few injuries last season and Davinson Sanchez’s campaign was also hit by problems.
Spurs need to act quick in the summer
Tottenham haven’t signed a player in over 18 months, and they have to get some fresh faces in the summer.

We need to back Mauricio Pochettino after his achievements last season, and hopefully, sign the right players to strengthen the team.
