Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in Rennes’ Benjamin Bourigeaud
Tottenham are one of five Premier League clubs interested in Rennes midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud, according to Estadio Deportivo (h/t Mirror).
The 25-year-old was excellent for the Ligue 1 side scoring six goals and providing five assists in the league last season.
The other clubs interested in the Frenchman are Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, and the report adds that as many as 11 teams are tracking the midfielder.
The report claims that Rennes want £18m for Bourigeaud while Atalanta, Roma, Napoli and the two big Milan sides are also interested in the 25-year-old.
The 25-year-old primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, however, Bourigeaud can be deployed in a deeper role or out wide.
Spurs sold Mousa Dembele in the winter window and did not sign a replacement for the Belgian. Tottenham
Bourigeaud isn’t the Dembele replacement we need, but he could be a quality player to have in the team.
Versatile star to help Spurs?
The Frenchman’s versatility would be used well by Mauricio Pochettino, and at £18m, he would be a cheap signing as well.
Spurs reached the Champions League final last season, but we need to build on that result this season.

The 25-year-old could develop further under Pochettino, and it will be interesting to see where Bourigeaud ends up.
