Spurs transfer news: Jack Clarke set for medical ahead of Tottenham move
The Sun reports that Leeds United’s Jack Clarke has been permitted to speak with Tottenham ahead of a proposed move.
The 18-year-old was one of the bright sparks under Marcelo Bielsa last season as Leeds missed out on Premier League promotion.
Clarke played 25 games for the Championship club, and the report adds that he will head off to Tottenham to undergo a medical and finalise the terms of his move.
Tottenham saw a couple of deals rejected for Clarke, but the report claims an £8.5m move will be finalised between the clubs.
The report claims that Clarke told Leeds’ bosses and Bielsa that he wants a move to Spurs, and he should be the next English talent to progress under Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine has done a great job with the English players since joining Southampton and has monitored their growth since taking over Tottenham.
Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Dele Alli are some of the stars he has developed since his move to London, and it will be interesting to see how things progress with Clarke.
A bright talent for the future
Clarke broke into the Leeds team last season, but most of his games came off the bench.

The English talent still needs to start more games, and Pochettino could send him back on loan to a Championship club to gain more experience.
