Spurs transfer news: Fernandes prefers a move to Manchester United over Tottenham
Portuguese outlet A Bola (h/t Metro) claims that Bruno Fernandes prefers a move to Manchester United over Tottenham.
The report claims that the 24-year-old believes a move to Old Trafford will help his career more.
Fernandes wants first-team football, and that could be readily available at Old Trafford, according to the report.
Ander Herrera left Old Trafford in the summer while the future of Paul Pogba is still in the air (h/t Metro).
Tottenham are also closing in on Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, according to the report, and hence Fernandes believes United would be a better destination.
Another Premier League club in the running for Fernandes
Premier League rivals Liverpool are also keen on Fernandes but will not increase their £40m bid for the 24-year-old (h/t
United are unwilling to pay the full £70m for the Portuguese midfielder, as negotiations continue (h/t Metro). However, the report claims that the Red Devils are the favourites to land Fernandes.
Fernandes scored 20 league goals and provided 13 assists last season, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next season.
Getting Ndombele seems to be a priority for Spurs and hopefully, we can wrap up the signing soon.
