Spurs transfer news: Lyon president rejects €45m bid for Tanguy Ndombele
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed that he rejected Tottenham’s €45m bid for Tanguy Ndombele.
The Mirror reports that Tottenham are leading the race for the 22-year-old midfielder, and Aulas claimed that Spurs have to come closer to €80m if they want to sign Ndombele.
The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino intervened in the discussions and convinced Ndombele to join Spurs, however, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the Frenchman too.
Aulas is known to be a tough negotiator and told RMC (h/t Mirror) that he wants more for the sale of Ndombele:
“If I wait another eight days, it will be €80 million.
“Tottenham made us an opening offer worth €45m. Then, we discussed more. Nothing is done, I can assure you. We are not in a hurry either.”
The president added that Ndombele had proved his worth to the national team too, and could not fix a price-tag on the 22-year-old.
The French midfielder is one of the highest-rated youngsters in Ligue 1 and would be a great coup for Spurs.
Ndombele shown Tottenham’s training ground
The Evening Standard reported yesterday that Ndombele had been shown around Tottenham’s training ground ahead of the move.
The Frenchman also spoke earlier in the month about Tottenham being a big club and being interested with a move (h/t Evening Standard).

Ndombele would make a fine first signing in the summer window, and hopefully, we can finalise a deal for him soon.
